Explain to your client the difference between personal ethics, professional ethics, and computer ethics stating why these principles must be followed during an investigation.

Ethics:

Ethical standards generally describe the sense of right, wrong, good, and bad. It will vary from place to place and from person to person.

Classification of ethics:

Ethics are classified as personal ethics, professional ethics, and computer ethics.

PERSONAL ETHICS:

Basically, the personal ethics in a person are referred to as the person’s personal morals and they are instilled in a person by their family, mother, father, surrounding environment, etc. The life of any person would become shallow and would be incomplete without personal ethics and values. A person’s personal ethics will be revealed while a person is talking to his friend, relatives, elders, etc.

PROFESSIONAL ETHICS:

The person’s values or principles are introduced in a person in his/her professional organization or institution, then such ethics are said to be the professional ethics. Being fair to one’s job, confidentiality towards the business, transparency is the qualities that refer to a person’s professional ethics.

COMPUTER ETHICS:

Computer ethics refers to the application of moral principles by an individual to the use of computers and while browsing over the internet. Basically, the internet makes it easy for a person to copy and redistribute digital content. But a person should obviously respect the copyright guidelines. It is also important to follow the license agreement of software while using it.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ETHICS:

Now if we differentiate the three kinds of ethics i.e., Personal ethics, professional ethics, and computer ethics.

The personal morals and values towards family, friends, organization are said to be personal, while the morals towards an organization and its policies are said to be the professional ethics, and the morals towards using computers, software, and the internet are said to be the computer ethics.

Personal ethics be learned by a person, when they are with their family and friends, while professional ethics are learned when they become the part of a corporate world or enter into some organization, while computer ethics are learned before using the computers or the software that is used in a system, or during the use of the internet, etc.

EXAMPLES OF ETHICS:

Some of the examples of personal ethics are friendliness, respecting others, honesty, loyalty, integrity, etc.

Professional ethics are workers’ safety, their health, being confidential towards the customers, not destroying the company policies.

The examples of computer ethics are like, shouldn’t destroy others privacy (some do hack others’ systems), shouldn’t misuse the internet, should use any software following the license agreement.

All these ethical standards are very important while investigating.
